Core Facilities at the M. H. Mohseni Institute of Urologic Sciences
At the M. H. Mohseni Institute of Urologic Sciences, we are committed to pushing the boundaries of urological science through innovative research, compassionate patient care, and collaboration. Our state-of-the-art research platforms are organized into five complementary cores, each contributing to a holistic approach to urological research and treatment. Together, we aim to improve patient outcomes and set new benchmarks in urological science.
Advanced Genomics & Computation Science Core
Our Advanced Genomics & Computation Science Core specializes in next-generation sequencing and mass spectrometry to support groundbreaking research. By integrating cutting-edge technology with expert knowledge, we provide high-quality multi-omics data to advance the understanding of diseases and develop innovative treatments. Services offered include single-cell sequencing, whole genome and exome sequencing, RNA sequencing for gene expression, targeted DNA and RNA sequencing, and comprehensive bioinformatics support.
Therapeutics Development Core
Our Therapeutics Development Core focuses on identifying novel drug candidates through computational drug design and experimental pharmacological evaluation. The core seamlessly integrates with other units to support translational research. Services include drug target identification, computational drug discovery, biomarker assay development, and pharmacodynamic and biomarker analysis in clinical trials.
Disease Modeling Core
The Disease Modeling Core leverages advanced model systems to replicate human biology, enabling the development and testing of pre-clinical treatment strategies. This core provides tools for studying the molecular and cellular development of prostate cancer, such as cytotoxicity and clonogenic assays, drug-target interaction assays, in vitro and in vivo tumor models, and xenografts and transgenics analysis.
Pathology and Cellular Imaging Core
The Pathology and Cellular Imaging Core offers clinical-grade, high-throughput analytical services with rapid turnaround times. Utilizing state-of-the-art imaging technologies, we support cellular and subcellular localization studies crucial for understanding prostate cancer cell growth and survival. Our key services comprise immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization (FISH & CISH), Tissue Micro Array (TMA) construction, high-throughput scanning, and digital image analysis.
Clinical Trials Core
The Clinical Trials Core is dedicated to conducting high-quality clinical trials in partnership with national and international networks. Our experienced team ensures comprehensive coordination of trials, which involves Phase I to III clinical trials, pharmacokinetic and biomarker studies, development of clinical trial protocols, and preparation of regulatory and ethical documentation.
