Bio:

Dr. Flannigan is an Associate Professor within the Department of Urologic Sciences at the University of British Columbia. He is also a senior surgeon-scientist, director of the Reproductive & Sexual Medicine Centre, and director of the Male Infertility, Sexual Medicine & Microsurgery Fellowship Program. 

Clinically, Dr. Flannigan is a urologist subspecialized in male reproduction and sexual medicine. He performs medical and surgical care for Erectile Dysfunction, Peyronie’s Disease and Infertility. He performs penile implants, Peyronie’s plications & plaque incision grafts, sperm retrievals, microTESEs, vasectomy reversals. 

Dr. Flannigan’s research is multi-faceted and highly interdisciplinary with several collaborators. His main focus is on developing novel therapeutic strategies for patients with sexual dysfunction and infertility. This spans regenerative medicine, tissue engineering, computational analyses, artificial intelligence and microfluidics in pursuit of novel infertility therapies. For sexual medicine, his research spans creation of digital tools to improve access to care, diagnostics and enhancing quality of care. Furthermore, he is interested in creating novel medical devices for the monitoring and management of sexual dysfunction conditions.
